No matter how many years I spend on South Padre Island I always look forward to the arrival of summer. Its hard not to be caught up in the excitement of the place, even if you live here. The vibe of summer guests on vacation, smelling of coconut oil and enthusistically enjoying the beach is contagious. It reminds me of all the times I was a visitor and was delighted by the tropical atmosphere and good times ahead. I can still remember crossing the bridge and catching sight of our oasis of an island seemingly floating on the Gulf. I still remember my first breath of warm salt air taken after a long absence. And I still enjoy the fireworks, every friday, all summer.

Yep, summertimes are good times. For everyone who comes here.
