Don’t Miss the July 4th Beach Parade

When you want to celebrate a holiday like Independence Day there’s no better place to do it than right here on South Padre Island TX. We can throw a party like no other you’ve been to and won’t soon forget. Bring the whole family dressed in the spirit of the holiday and be a part of the fun! This holiday comes around just once a year so come out to walk, stroll or roll through this new shorter parade route and show your patriotism. You’ll be glad you did!
The July 4th Beach Parade in SPI starts at 9:30 a.m. (lineup at 9 a.m.) at Beach Access #20 (Gay Dawn) and proceeds to Beach Access #17 (Starlight Circle). This free event includes prizes for the best costume, and best group, bike, wagon or stroller. Enjoy free watermelon, beads and flags while they last. The kids will enjoy the new SPLASH Water Fun provided by the SPI Fire Dept.

If you want to be a part of this exciting event, volunteers are needed to help with the 4th of July Beach Parade. People are needed to help set up and work the event between the hours of 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. (or anytime in between). Come work a couple hours or stay all day or evening! If you’re available, call Debbie Huffman, chair of the Park & Rec Committee, at 817-925-4068.

This year’s parade and subsequent events are sponsored by the South Padre Island Parks, Recreation & Beautification Committee.
