Who doesn’t love sea turtles? And what a perfect place for you to head to even on a hot summers afternoon is to the Sea Turtles Rescue Center. They have made it their mission to educate the public about sea turtles, how to save these beautiful animals, and all about their work. Their hours are Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm. Please note that their last ticket sales are at 4:15 pm daily to help with the crowd control before closing time.
Schlitterbahn Waterpark
Looking for a little more adventure, then head on over to Schlitterbahn Waterpark for the day! Sometimes riding down a lazy river or riding some rides will help your family bond. And for the younger kids who want to be like the big kids, there are plenty of things for them to do. Even venture a little bit and do the Soaring Eagle Zipline for extra fun! Visit the Dolphin Research & Sea Life Nature Center
The Dolphin Research & Sea Life Nature Center is located at the base of the bridge heading into South Padre Island. It offers visitors an up-close look at several locally sea creatures and has daily educational programs. If you are looking for a great attraction for the whole family to enjoy, then this is the spot. There are Dolphin and bird watching boat tours nearby for you to take advantage of. The hours of operation are 10 am to 4 pm and you can even help feed the animals. What more could a kid ask for while on vacation?
Island Adventure Park
Have a need to be adventurous on one of your outings? Then head on over to Island Adventure Park for you to enjoy some pretty amazing things to do. They have horseback riding, zip-lines and even a petting barn for you to take part in. There is also the Island Fun Park which include family fun with mini golf and go carts.
